Tony and I thought it would be fun to make cookies with Brayden this year. he is quite a bit older (maturity at least) than last year... old enough to not touch, leave the hot stove alone, etc... We didn't do anything TOO complicated... not because of Brayden ... more because of my limited cooking knowledge ;) We dipped pretzels and oreos in chocolate and make choc. chip cookies (ok, sliced and baked). After Brayden went to bed, I put them on cookie sheets and then on the snow on the porch to chill. Wellll.... in the meantime, a glass fell from the cabinet cutting me all over (not bad just annoying) and leaving glass and blood all over the kitchen... I had to take a shower, we had to
CLEAN the kitchen to make sure all the glass had been picked up... In the meantime, it rained.... uh, yes... it
RAINED!!! The worst part? We didn't know it rained. We were so preoccupied with getting ALL of the glass up that we didn't pay attention to outside or my 5-6 cookie sheets full of beautifully dipped pretzel/oreos.... pretzels/oreos that were intended to be beautiful neighbor gifts and other gifts. Tony tried to assure me that they were ok and not ruined... and then he said... "ooh, but I can put my finger all the way through the oreo... yea, they are no good".
And so you have it. My attempt at being festive ruined. This is a week ago and I can just now blog about it. It was upsetting. :)
Thankfully, we baked once again and all was well. Pictures of that night to come...
