We are learning...

The other night, I decided to take a training wheel off of Brayden's bike. He did exceptionally well so I said, "ok the other one is coming off too". Keep in mind, this wasn't stretched over time... it was all in a matter of 5 minutes. We had gone from 2 training wheels to one (really only allowing him to ride up and down the street once before I insisted the other come off) I hate it that I pushed him... He wasn't quite ready for both wheels to be off. He was confident with one on. He had more self assurance. He told me he wasn't ready. I pushed the issue. and now we are back to one training wheel.
It was quite a teaching moment for me though as I learn that not everyone's "schedule" meshes with mine... and that really there is no reason to have to "push" things. I am learning to be patient. It sounds so simple on paper... not so simple for me sometimes. Sorry buddy, mommies really stink sometimes.
